- 1. Independent Dental Hygiene Practice
- 2. CDCP (Canadian Dental Care Plan)
- We are an Independent Dental Hygiene Practice – what’s that?
Dental hygienists who practice independently have their own business providing oral health care with a focus on prevention and without a dentist in the office.
Services we provide:
- oral cancer screening
- assess the health of your mouth, oral tissues, teeth, and gums
- identify any areas of concern
- apply products to treat tooth or gum sensitivity if needed
- remove dental biofilm and calculus (tartar) from your teeth
- may apply fluoride to prevent tooth decay
- provide education on at-home oral care techniques to address gum disease
Please note:
- On your first visit to our office there is a one time fee for a New Client exam.
- We do not take x-rays or offer local anesthetic.
- Where restorative dental work may be needed, eg. suspected cavities, we will refer you to a dentist, either our recommendation or of your choosing.
2. CDCP (Canadian Dental Care Plan)
We use the CDCP Fee Schedule with no additional charges beyond set CDCP co-payment amounts as follows:
- 100% coverage – no co-payment
- 60% coverage – 40% co-payment
- 40% coverage – 60% co-payment
Please bring your CDCP card with you to your first appointment.
We recommend checking the letter you received from the CDCP to confirm your ‘Effective Date’ as well as your coverage level (40%, 60%, or 100%) prior to booking your appointment.
All CDCP clients must renew their eligibility annually.
