Oral Health Assessment

This is a dental service that involves the evaluation of the gums, teeth, and surrounding tissues to determine the health status of your periodontium. The periodontium refers to the tissues that support and anchor your teeth in place, including the gums, periodontal ligaments, and bone.

It also includes a oral cancer screening

During the periodontal assessment, Bruce the dental hygienist, will perform a thorough examination of your periodontium to identify any signs of periodontal disease, also known as gum disease. This assessment involves measuring the depth of gum pockets, assessing the level of gum attachment, and looking for signs of inflammation or infection.

The oral health assessment also includes screening for oral cancer.

Fluoride Varnish

Fluoride varnish is a dental treatment that involves applying a thin coating of fluoride to the teeth. The varnish is a resin-based material that contains high levels of fluoride, which is effective in strengthening tooth enamel and preventing tooth decay.

Silver Diamide Fluoride

Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a liquid used in dentistry to treat tooth decay and sensitivity. SDF is capable of slowing down the progression of cavities and lesions.

SDF may also help to reduce tooth sensitivity, is painless and relatively easy to apply.

It is important to note that SDF treatment does not eliminate the need for dental fillings or crowns, though it may be a viable alternative for young children or those in long-term care settings.

Crystal Teeth Desensitizing

Crystal teeth desensitizer is a dental treatment used to alleviate tooth sensitivity. Tooth sensitivity is a common dental issue characterized by a sharp or sudden pain in the teeth when exposed to certain stimuli, such as hot or cold temperatures, sweet or acidic foods, or even brushing.

Crystal teeth desensitizer works by creating a protective barrier on the surface of the teeth that helps to block pain signals and reduce tooth sensitivity.

During a crystal teeth desensitizer treatment, the dental hygienist will apply the desensitizer which will then harden, creating a protective layer on the teeth. Additionally, the desensitizer is long-lasting and can provide relief for several months.
